A few weeks ago I bought my own domain backtothephilippines.com and today thanks to my husband my blog is now hosted on his server. With his help, I have installed Wordpress MU and now this site has the ability to host multiple blogs. You would probably notice that I am inviting guest authors as well. Who knows, maybe someday it will not be just me blogging but a whole community of bloggers!
Fortunately, I have exported all my posts and comments successfully and now the posts are arranged in Categories. I have also installed several plugins such as:
Coming from Blogger, it was a bit of learning curve for me. After several hours of downloading and configuring plugins, searching and choosing from dozens of themes and editing php templates I have finally come up with a “look and feel” that I am very happy with. Wordpress is indeed a serious tool for bloggers. Once you dive in there’s no turning back! But kidding aside, I do suggest the following must read sites if you are starting a Wordpress blog (I still have a LOT to learn myself):

Congrats on the new site and for moving to wordpress! I’m also in the process of learning wordpress / wordpress MU for a future site in development, and also to improve on Julius’s Philippine Voyager site.
The ‘Related Posts’ plugin was one thing I was researching, so thanks for the link. I think this is one of the more important add-ons to enable readers to discover older posts quickly and easily.
I’ll see you when you’re back in the Philippines! I myself have just arrived back home this week and it is everything I imagined.

I’m so jealous Mixxy. My blog is just a parking space of my thoughts at this point. If it’s a learning curve for a blogger you said, where does that leave me?
I will add this to my long list of favorites and hoping I could come back to it sooner. Thanks!
